To tinker or not....., nope just tinker!
Right I did tinker and change my clubs and it seems to have worked! I was worried about gapping and consistency. This will focus on gapping, although anecdotally I feel like consistency has also been altered. More to follow when I have data. First change, possibly not the biggest was a change of irons. I was intrigued by the Ascending Mass Technology (AMT) shaft in how this could benefit long irons, whilst also having heavy short irons and wedges. I remember the Mizuno shaft fitting tool fit me into the AMT white many years ago, but I didn't persue it. Looking at what irons in the second hand market have AMT shafts with 130g wedge weights (over the top/reroute tendency being fought), Titleist, Cobra and Ping stood out. Ping's AWT shafts were a little light on paper thus following a typical for me obsessive search, I decided on Titleist. In particular AP2.
